More about Believe Out Loud
BOLD is designed to equip and empower Reconciling United Methodists to build relationships both within the movement and across ideological and theological divides.
BOLD is based on the understanding that people don’t change until they know other people’s stories. BOLD seeks to build intentional relationships with 600 or more of the 1000 delegates at 2012 General Conference. Stoy telling will help the United Methodist church fulfill our gospel mandate to love all people by moving towards full inclusion for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Within the framework of CTW, the 2009-2010 The BOLD campaign is designed to strengthen the Reconciling movement by:
- Organizing effective teams in each Annual Conference
- Building relationships within the movement
- Developing and empowering grassroots leaders
To accomplish these goals the BOLD campaign seeks to teach participants how to:
- Effectively tell short, power-packed personal stories
- Build and work in effective teams
- Organize grassroots campaigns
- Frame the issue, including a sense of urgency
The BOL campaign is designed to work both with a select group of Annual Conference Organizers, as well as at large members of the Reconciling Ministries Network. In this way, the campaign seeks to intentionally develop and empower grassroots leaders, while still providing an opportunity for new participants to join the movement in meaningful ways.
